Day 20 - Oops!

Saturday, September 27, 2008

I broke my 19 day clean eating streak today :-( . I ate my first 4 meals as planned and only had one more to go. I figured I was in the clear...NOT. Out of no where I binged on who knows what. I inhaled everything I ate with no thought and no enjoyment. I am not sure what triggered it. Yesterday was my free day so I though it was out of my system. Now I need to make sure to get right back on track and not let this get out of control.

Day 14 - Free day aftermath ;-)

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Yesterday I took an unplanned free day.  I was really struggling to stay clean yesterday and decided rather than mess-up my 13 day clean streak it was time for a free day.  It worked because this morning I work up feeling bloated, gassy and tired from the junk I ate.  Feeling so yucky made me more than ready to eat clean today, and I DID!  That brings me up to 14 days clean!!!

Sweet dreams.

Day 13 - DOMS

Saturday, September 20, 2008

What happened to the "delay" in Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness better know as DOMS! My hamstrings were sore almost immediately after the workout and this morning well it HURTS, in a good way. Yesterday was an interval workout for TnT. The trainer was Danielle, I had other names for her :-) We went outside for the workout and I don't remember the entire 45 minutes but it went something like this.

  • Short jog - warm-up
  • 3 Sets - walking lunges followed by 15 reps resistance band rows (felt like 300+ lunges!!!)
  • 3 Sets - Jumping over parking bumper 30 seconds followed by 15 reps resistance band pull downs(?)
  • 3 Sets - All out sprint and jog back followed by 15 reps resistance band shoulder press
  • 3 Sets - In a parking space run to one side touch line then to other side touch line 30 seconds followed by some resistance band exercise I can't remember
  • 3 Sets - 15 reps raised leg crunches followed by 30 second planks
  • Stretching - the best part!!!

Then if that was not enough I played tennis for an hour on my jello like legs!!!!

All is good!

Day 10 & 11 - Time management

Thursday, September 18, 2008

Where do my days go?  I feel like I can't catch up with everything I need to do around the house and for volunteering at school.  I need to start managing my time better or my husband may fire me ;-)

Even though I have no time I managed to eat clean and get my workouts in.  I am not drinking enough water and have falling back in to drinking too many Diet Cokes.  11 clean days in a row, I'll take it!

Day 9 - Spinning

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Sitting here watching the new season of Biggest Loser. They showing how obesity affects your health and exactly what it does to you body (heart, lungs, etc.) I have never watched a full season but have seen the amazing transformations. It is inspiring and motivating seeing what the contestants accomplish.

I have always wanted to try spinning, and I got to do that today at TnT. It was fun, but I felt like I could have gone longer or harder. I know they are working us into this slowly. I need to stick with it and not try to do more. Tomorrow I have a tennis match tomorrow at 10am.

I ate clean but probably could have had more water.

  • M1-Zone Bar
  • M2-EFL Artichoke Chicken salad, nectarine
  • M3-Turkey spinach wrap
  • M4-1 whole egg, 3 egg whites, apple
  • M5-1/2C Greek yogurt, 1/2C blueberries, 1 scoop protein powder

Today was weigh-in and picture day. I lost 4.6 lbs. I am sure that is mostly water weight but it is a start. I will post picture in the my sidebar later.

Guilt

085

Why is it when I do something for "me" I feel guilty?

This morning after dropping Little Man off at school, I headed over to the athletic club for a team tennis practice.  When I got there my coach asked if I wanted to take a 3.5 clinic with him because all of his players did not show up.  This was a great opportunity because I was getting the chance to play up from my 2.5 level.  So 1.5 hours and $15 later I feel awesome and had an awesome workout!  As I am riding home, I start feeling guilty for spending the money and spending the time on me!  Tell me what is wrong with this picture ;-)

Day 7 - Weekend Update

Sunday, September 14, 2008

I decided against a Free Day this weekend and went with a Free Meal instead.  I find for me that a free day ALWAYS turns into free DAYS!  I have a hard time stopping.  The only unplanned items were at a baby shower I attended on Saturday.  I had 2 ham finger sandwiches and a slice of pineapple.  It could have been a lot worse so I was happy with my will power.

Tomorrow I am practicing with my tennis team for 2 hours in the morning and taking a beginners yoga class in the evening.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
