Guilt

Why is it when I do something for "me" I feel guilty?
This morning after dropping Little Man off at school, I headed over to the athletic club for a team tennis practice. When I got there my coach asked if I wanted to take a 3.5 clinic with him because all of his players did not show up. This was a great opportunity because I was getting the chance to play up from my 2.5 level. So 1.5 hours and $15 later I feel awesome and had an awesome workout! As I am riding home, I start feeling guilty for spending the money and spending the time on me! Tell me what is wrong with this picture ;-)
I think that is the way Mom's are. We are so focused on our families that it feels a little off kilter to take care of ourselves.
Just think how awesome the exercise that you got from playing tennis is for your new goals! Think positive Gina!
Hi Gina,
By spending something some time and money for your fitness, you are also making yourself a fitter person, better able to help your family and enjoy life with them. So don't feel too guilty, you are worth it!
Thats how we are WIRED I think and its what has got us overweight and miserable in the first place. We take better care of the people around us when we take better care of ourselves.
